This training exposure was organized to identified priority actions to constitute training materials in the form of policy and information notes for effective engagement of women and youth in aquaculture value chains and business skills with the following resulting policy briefs:
The training was reinforced by a practical session through a field trip to an aquaculture research and development station called world fish that operated a modern style fish hatchery, producing tilapia fry, African catfish fingerlings, silver carp and practices sex reversal for mono sex tilapia.
Open discussions and experiences sharing on global aquaculture technology research and development was highly encouraged. This was also an opportune platform for participants to share insights, research management and collaborative strategic next steps for technology transfer and delivery systems.
